The situation&#039;s much better in Japan; on Valentine&#039;s day, only women give to the men. The men don&#039;t have to give anything except, perhaps, thanks for what they&#039;ve received.

The men then have a whole month until &quot;White day&quot;, on March 14th, when they&#039;re supposed to return cards/gifts etc to the women from whom valentines gifts were received. Much easier!</description>
