The situation’s much better in Japan; on Valentine’s day, only women give to the men. The men don’t have to give anything except, perhaps, thanks for what they’ve received.

The men then have a whole month until “White day”, on March 14th, when they’re supposed to return cards/gifts etc to the women from whom valentines gifts were received. Much easier!
